Why territory is the ultimate currency of survival in the wild
In short: For many species, land isn't just space; it is a strategic kingdom. This documentary explores the complex tactics animals use to claim, hold, and defend the resources necessary for life.
In the natural world, securing territory provides four critical advantages: abundant food sources, safe shelter, access to potential mates, and secure areas to raise offspring. Because these resources are so vital, territorial species will engage in fierce combat to seize control or protect what they already own.
The film uses archival footage and computer-generated graphics to break down the specific 'game plans' of various creatures. It examines the underlying strategies of attack, defense, communication, hunting, and mating that allow animals to navigate and dominate the chaos of their environments.
