How Power Shapes the Narrative of Royal History
In short: History is often less about what happened and more about how it was packaged. This video explores how those in power have strategically manipulated, hidden, or invented stories to maintain influence.
Historian Lucy Worsley examines the deliberate construction of historical narratives, focusing on 'royal fibs' used to protect reputations or consolidate authority. The content deconstructs famous royal milestones—from scandalous weddings to fabricated quotes—to reveal the gap between public perception and private reality.
By analyzing these fabrications, the video highlights how truth can be bent for personal gain. It serves as a guide to recognizing how historical records are sometimes crafted by those with the means to shape them.
