The secret grassland heart of Brazil depends on fire and thunder
In short: While most people associate Brazil with rainforests, its central grasslands form a hidden frontier defined by dramatic weather patterns. This documentary explores these lesser-known habitats, capturing the unique life forms that thrive in one of the world's last wild frontiers.
The series highlights the immense scale of Brazil, noting it is nearly as large as Europe or the United States. Beyond its famous coastlines and rainforests, the country contains a labyrinth of lakes and vast deserts that remain largely unexplored by the general public. A primary focus is the central grassland region, a secret habitat shaped by seasonal summer thunderstorms and fire. The production uses high-end studio equipment to capture these specific landscapes and introduce charismatic, little-known animal species that inhabit these diverse environments.
