In short: Born to a Palestinian family that never left their land, Yoseph Haddad became one of Israel's most prominent Arab-Israeli voices. His life is a study in extreme polarization: a decorated veteran and activist who champions Israeli security, while facing accusations of betrayal from his own community.

Yoseph Haddad, an Orthodox Christian born in Haifa in 1985, represents a complex intersection of identities. While his family still owns land in Jish—land that remained with his grandfather during the 1948 Palestinian expulsion—Haddad chose to serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 2003. His decision was sparked by the Maxim restaurant suicide bombing, which killed 21 Israelis, including several Arab citizens. During his service in the Golani Brigade, he was seriously injured by a Kornet missile during the Battle of Bint Jbeil, resulting in the loss of part of his foot and a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Haddad has built a massive media platform centered on 'hasbara'—pro-Israel advocacy. Since 2020, he has worked for i24NEWS and serves as the CEO of Together – Vouch for Each Other, an organization he founded in 2018 to integrate Arab Israelis into broader Israeli society. He advocates for Arab Israelis to volunteer for national service and has organized events ranging from Holocaust education in the UAE to boycotts against international authors who support the BDS movement. His influence is significant; by March 2025, he had amassed over 850,000 Instagram followers, many of whom joined during the Gaza war.

His public persona is deeply contested. Supporters, including the Israeli Foreign Ministry, have awarded him prizes for his efforts in combating anti-Semitism and fostering unity. Conversely, critics in the Palestinian community accuse him of exploiting his Arab identity to serve government aims while ignoring systemic discrimination. This friction has led to physical violence; he has reported being attacked on flights and at university campuses. Even within Israeli media, his reputation is split, with some praising his eloquence and others, like the publication Haaretz, labeling him 'Israel's favorite Arab hasbarista' and questioning if his vision for reconciliation is viable.
