How to pierce a dollar bill without leaving a single mark

The mechanism depends on a small, pre-existing rip or slit in the bill, located approximately a quarter of the way down. This can be achieved by 'finagling' the borrowed bill while the spectator is distracted, or by having a duplicate, pre-ripped bill ready in a pocket to switch out during the performance. To execute the move, the performer uses a secondary piece of paper, such as an index card or a Post-it Note, to wrap around the bill.
The technique involves folding the paper around the currency, bending the bill down about half an inch from the top. The pencil is then inserted into the fold. The secret is that the pencil tip sneaks through the hidden slit in the bill and travels toward the paper. By using the thumb to cover any visible edges of the rip and bending the corners of the paper, the performer creates a visual barrier that hides the gap, making the pencil appear to penetrate the solid paper.
Once the pencil has been pushed through the apparent center of the bill, the performer reveals the 'miracle.' They pull the pencil out and show that while the index card now possesses a hole, the borrowed hundred-dollar bill remains entirely intact and undamaged.
