A mission to Moho ends abruptly due to a catastrophic data storage failure
In short: Scott Manley documents a precarious mission to refuel a spacecraft on the planet Moho. After successfully locating a rare kethane deposit, the project faces an unexpected and permanent conclusion when the save file is corrupted.
The mission reached a critical juncture in orbit around Moho, where the spacecraft lacked sufficient fuel for a landing and lacked the equipment to detect resources. A dedicated kethane scanning probe eventually arrived, identifying a small patch of fuel-rich material that would have allowed the vessel to replenish its tanks.
Despite this breakthrough, the series concludes prematurely. The storage disk containing the game save failed, and the most recent backup dated back to May, rendering the progress irrecoverable.
