The ongoing scientific battle to crown Earth's largest dinosaur
In short: Determining the record for the largest dinosaur is a moving target. This video explores the latest evidence regarding the scale of prehistoric giants, from massive sauropods to the world's most formidable carnivores.
Paleontologists are constantly re-evaluating the size of prehistoric species as new evidence emerges. The discussion focuses on the sheer scale of sauropods—the long-necked plant eaters—and whether they were truly the largest animals to ever walk the Earth.
The video also examines the limits of apex predators, questioning if the Giganotosaurus or Spinosaurus could have defeated a Tyrannosaurus rex. It specifically investigates the possibility that the T-Rex may have been 70% larger than previous scientific estimates suggested.
