The celestial ghosts haunting our solar system's history
In short: Not every planet in our cosmic neighborhood is still here. This video explores the vanished moons and hypothesized planets that once occupied our maps before fading into scientific mystery.
Astronomy is often a journey through shifting truths. The narrative of our solar system includes celestial bodies that were either physically lost to time or existed only as long-held hypotheses and legends. These 'ghost' objects represent the evolution of human observation, moving from early sightings to modern scientific scrutiny.
The video examines how certain moons were spotted and then disappeared, alongside planets that were once considered real but are now relegated to the mists of history. It highlights the quest for truth in a field where many stories eventually become dead ends.
