A mysterious methane surge may signal a global climate reversal
In short: Since 2006, a potent greenhouse gas has been steadily increasing in the atmosphere without a clear link to human activity. This video explores whether this anomaly marks the beginning of an ice age termination event similar to those seen in our planet's past.
The core mystery involves a methane surge that began appearing in 2006. While scientists initially expected a correlation with fossil fuel emissions, no such link was found. This unexplained growth has persisted for 16 years, creating significant concern regarding the planet's climate balance.
The video draws parallels to an ice age termination event that occurred approximately 12,000 years ago. During that period, a similar shift transformed the global environment in just a few decades, making large areas of the earth uninhabitable.
