Scott Edwards, the Alexander Agassiz Professor of Zoology at Harvard University, studies the evolutionary trajectory of birds. His work focuses on understanding how these animals navigate changing environments and the mechanisms behind their historical dispersal across the globe.

By applying genomic analysis, Edwards investigates the biological responses of birds to rapid global change. Beyond his research, he serves as the Chair of the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology and works to expand undergraduate participation in biodiversity science.
