When faced with a large batch of holiday gifts, one engineer decided to build a dedicated factory machine to handle the woodworking. The project involved creating a segmented bowl measuring 11 inches by 4 inches, utilizing a combination of oak and Spectraply. The creator drew inspiration from the whimsical industrial imagery found in Dr. Seuss's The Sneetches to design the assembly process.
While the machine was intended to assist with gift production, the creator notes that the stop-motion filming process actually required significantly more time than traditional manual lathe turning.
