The invisible labor that sustains our entire way of life
In short: Domestic workers provide the essential foundation for modern society, yet they are frequently overlooked. Ai-Jen Poo explores why nannies, elder-care workers, and house cleaners deserve recognition as the primary architects of our daily stability.
Ai-Jen Poo highlights how domestic workers are entrusted with the most intimate aspects of human life, from childcare to elderly care. Despite their vital role in making all other work possible, these individuals are often dismissed as mere "help" or rendered invisible by the systems they support.
Poo advocates for securing equal rights and fair wages for this workforce. She challenges viewers to adopt a new perspective: recognizing the dedication of those who show up and provide care regardless of personal circumstances.
