How a Canadian wrestler transformed her persona from fitness influencer to gothic horror villain
In short: Laura Dennis has spent two decades reinventing herself in the ring, evolving from a local trainee into a multi-promotional champion. Known by various monikers including Cherry Bomb, Allie, and The Bunny, her career is defined by a fluid ability to shift between hero and villain through complex, character-driven narratives.
Born in 1987, Laura Dennis began her professional journey at seventeen, training in Toronto before debuting in 2005. Early in her career, she competed as Cherry Bomb, a name bestowed upon her by trainer Rob Etcheverria. She quickly established a presence in the independent circuit, including stints in Great Canadian Wrestling, where she captured the W.I.L.D. Championship in 2007, and Shimmer Women Athletes, where she formed the successful tag team The Kimber Bombs with Kimber Lee.
Her transition to the national stage saw her adopt the name Allie upon signing with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2016. This era showcased her narrative versatility, moving from a submissive apprentice to a two-time Knockouts Champion. Her character work often blurred the lines of reality and fiction, notably through her on-screen and real-life relationship with wrestler Jesse Guilmette, known variously as Pepper Parks, Braxton Sutter, and The Blade. Her later run in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as The Bunny saw her lean into darker, horror-inspired aesthetics, drawing creative influence from characters like Katherine Pierce and the film The Strangers.
Beyond the ring, Dennis has maintained a consistent commitment to her personal ethics, having been a vegetarian since age 14 and a vegan since 2014. Her career remains marked by a rare longevity in a physically demanding industry, surviving significant injuries—including a neck injury in 2007 and a broken orbital bone in 2023—to return to TNA in 2025. Today, she continues to perform, recently securing the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship alongside Rosemary, proving that her capacity for reinvention remains her most potent asset.
