In short: In 1993, a young Arlandis Hinton—later known as B.G. Knocc Out—stepped into a high-stakes feud between Eazy-E and Dr. Dre. His improvised verse on the track Real Muthaphuckkin Gs became a landmark moment, setting a standard for the aggressive, no-holds-barred diss records that would dominate the era.

Born in 1975, Al Hasan Naqiyy, originally Arlandis Hinton, grew up in Compton and Watts, California. Alongside his half-brother, Dresta, he became affiliated with the Nutty Blocc Compton Crip set. His entry into the music industry was swift and accidental; after Eazy-E recruited Dresta to help craft a response to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Naqiyy was brought to the studio. He improvised his verse on the spot, effectively inserting himself into a conflict that he later admitted he did not fully understand at the time.

The resulting single, Real Muthaphuckkin Gs, became a defining moment for the genre. Unlike earlier diss tracks that primarily targeted a rival's technical rapping ability, this song focused on exposing the personal histories and shattering the public images of its targets. The track reached No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains a benchmark for ruthless battle rap. Naqiyy’s career continued with his 1995 debut album, Real Brothas, and various high-profile features, but his trajectory was interrupted in 1998 when he began a ten-year prison sentence.

During his incarceration, Naqiyy underwent a significant personal transformation. He began studying Islam, eventually converting and adopting the name Al Hasan Naqiyy. Upon his release in 2008, he returned to the recording studio. His later work, including the 2011 album Eazy-E's Protege, served as a deliberate effort to preserve the legacy of Eazy-E, whom Naqiyy credits as a foundational figure who fought for artistic freedom against entities like the FBI. Since 2011, he has maintained a consistent output of albums and singles, continuing his career as an independent artist.
