From Page 3 to prime time: the multifaceted career of Kelly Brook
In short: Kelly Brook is an English model, actress, and media personality whose career spans decades of British pop culture. From her early days as a Page 3 girl to starring in Hollywood horror films and reality television, Brook has navigated a diverse path that includes radio presenting, fashion design, and business ventures.
Born Kelly Anne Parsons in 1979 in Rochester, Kent, Brook began her professional journey at 16 after winning a beauty competition. Her early career was defined by high-profile modelling campaigns for brands like Foster's Lager and Bravissimo, alongside her frequent appearances in magazines such as FHM and GQ. Her cultural impact was cemented in 2005 when she was crowned FHM's Sexiest Woman in the World, a list she appeared on annually from 1998 to 2015.
Beyond modelling, Brook established herself as a versatile screen presence. Her filmography includes roles in the 2004 film School for Seduction and the 2010 horror comedy Piranha 3D, which grossed $83.2 million. Her television career is equally extensive, featuring stints on Strictly Come Dancing, Britain's Got Talent, and Celebrity Race Across the World. Since 2019, she has co-presented the Drivetime radio show on Heart London alongside Jason King.
Brook’s interests have extended into entrepreneurship and literature. In 2013, she opened the London bar Steam and Rye, which was named Bar of the Year in 2014. She also released an autobiography in 2014 that reached the Sunday Times Bestseller list. Despite her public success, her career has seen moments of controversy, including criticism from domestic violence groups regarding comments made during her promotional tour for her book. Today, she remains a fixture in British media, balancing her broadcasting work with her personal life, including her 2022 marriage to Jeremy Parisi.
