In short: When mysterious tombs appearing worldwide grant supernatural powers, the world faces unprecedented danger. Seo Joo-Heon, a survivor of a devastating original timeline, uses a relic to travel 15 years into the past. His mission: steal every relic before his enemies can use them to reshape history.

Tomb Raider King, written by Sanji Jiksong, began serialization on KakaoPage on November 1, 2016. The narrative follows Seo Joo-Heon, who returns 15 years into the past to prevent the betrayal and destruction he witnessed in his original timeline. His goal is to secure relics—objects hidden in mysterious tombs that grant unique abilities—before they can be monopolized by dangerous factions.

The series has expanded from a web novel into a massive multimedia franchise. A webtoon adaptation launched on June 30, 2019, completing its first season on January 30, 2023, and its second season by March 27, 2023, reaching 412 chapters. In North America, Yen Press licensed the manhwa under its Ize Press imprint, with Redice Studio publishing twelve collected volumes as of August 2024.

The complexity of the world is reflected in its diverse cast of characters and their supernatural tools. Joo-Heon's team includes specialists like the strategist Julian, who uses relics of Zhuge Liang and Indra, and the medic Chloe, who uses the relic of Florence Nightingale. Tension rises through formidable foes like Chairman Kwon, who wields relics belonging to Achilles and Julius Caesar, alongside a U.S. Soldier famously called the King of War.

The franchise's reach extends to animation, with an aeni series produced by Studio EEK scheduled to air in Korea and Japan from July to September 2026. In Southeast Asia, the series was licensed by Medialink, while Crunchyroll provides streaming access with an English dub.
