In short: Ayane Sakura didn't start her career in front of a microphone. After training in theater, she realized she was "different" from traditional actors. This pivotal realization led her to abandon live performance for the world of voice acting, where she would eventually become an award-winning talent.

Born in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo, on January 29, 1994, Ayane Sakura pursued a path toward traditional acting during her junior high school years. She enrolled in a theater acting school to study a rigorous curriculum that included Japanese dancing, stretching, sword fighting, voice training, and acting techniques.

However, after performing on stage, Sakura concluded that live acting was not the right career path for her. This led to a deliberate shift toward voice acting (seiyuu). She made her professional debut in 2010 with roles in Keroro Gunso the Super Movie: Creation! Ultimate Keroro and Wonder Space-Time Island, as well as background work in Oreimo.

Since then, she has built an extensive portfolio across various media. Her notable roles include Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia, Yotsuba Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets, and Gabi Braun in Attack on Titan: The Final Season. Beyond acting, she frequently performs theme songs for the series she joins, a practice she has maintained for almost every project except MF Ghost. She also voiced characters in titles like Blue Archive and Genshin Impact. Her work spans diverse genres including sports and fantasy. She performed the opening theme for Joshiraku with her castmates.

Her career reached a significant milestone at the 12th Seiyu Awards, where she won the Best Supporting Actress award. In early 2022, she also underwent a major professional transition, moving from her previous agency, I'm Enterprise, to join Aoni Production. Her agency move occurred on January 31, 2022. This transition followed a decade of steady growth in the industry.
