In short: Before he was a producer or an activist, David Moscow was the face of a magical transformation. From his breakout role in a 1980s classic to creating award-winning content about the origins of our food, Moscow has spent decades navigating the intersection of performance and purpose.

David Moscow first gained national recognition in 1988 as the young Josh Baskin in the film Big, a role that famously involved a magical transformation into an adult played by Tom Hanks. He continued his trajectory in the 1990s, appearing in the musical film Newsies opposite Christian Bale and making guest appearances on popular series like Seinfeld. However, Moscow's career has evolved far beyond traditional acting into a diverse portfolio of production, direction, and advocacy.

As a producer and creator, Moscow has demonstrated a keen eye for both commercial and independent success. Working with Kerry Washington, he shared production and development duties for the initial In the Heights show by Lin-Manuel Miranda. His directorial debut, the psychological thriller Desolation, was partially funded through a Kickstarter campaign that featured a nostalgic reenactment of the Zoltar scene from Big. He has also produced projects such as Hellbenders, which was acquired by Lionsgate for distribution.

Beyond the screen, Moscow is a dedicated activist and culinary explorer. In 1992, he began his activism by tracking wolves for the Round River Conservation Studies. By 2006, he had developed a mixed-income green housing facility in Harlem. More recently, he co-created the food series From Scratch with his father, Jon. The series, which explores the sourcing of ingredients, led to a gold-winning 2023 Nautilus Book Award for their book on harvesting and foraging. The show is noted by Newsweek as a unique, riveting travel and food experience.
