In short: In 2007, Disney reinvented a beloved literary classic by introducing a young amateur sleuth named Darby. This imaginative six-year-old took center stage, leading Pooh and Tigger on mystery-solving adventures. The series marked a technological milestone for the franchise, becoming the first Winnie the Pooh production to utilize computer-generated animation.

Developed by Walt Disney Television Animation under executive producer Brian Hohlfeld, My Friends Tigger & Pooh debuted on May 12, 2007. The show shifted the narrative focus away from Christopher Robin, who appeared only twice due to his schooling, and introduced Darby and her dog, Buster, as the central figures. Together, they formed the Super Sleuths, a trio dedicated to investigating local mysteries within the Hundred Acre Wood. This creative departure was officially announced by Disney in December 2005.

The production represented a significant visual evolution for the brand. While the characters remained rooted in the world of A. A. Milne, the animation was executed by the Japanese studio Polygon Pictures using computer-generated techniques. This era also saw a transition in the voice cast. Travis Oates took over the role of Piglet following the death of John Fiedler in June 2005. Furthermore, the series served as the final performance for long-time voice actors Peter Cullen, Ken Sansom, and Kath Soucie before their characters were recast for the 2011 film.

Critical reception was largely positive, with reviewers praising the show's blend of charm and educational value. Emily Ashby of Common Sense Media highlighted the series for encouraging critical thinking through puzzle-solving, while Marilyn Moss of the Associated Press lauded the splendid animation. Commercially, the show proved highly successful, consistently ranking as the top-rated television series for children aged 2–5 during its first two seasons. It eventually expanded its reach beyond its initial run, finding a new audience on streaming platforms like Youku and Disney+.
