In short: When a Newfoundland inspector is exiled for uncovering political corruption, he finds himself solving crimes in the remote French collectivity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. This unique cross-cultural procedural has already become a top-performing drama, blending international crime with a distinct, isolated atmosphere.

The series follows Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick, a former Inspector with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. There, he forms an uneasy but effective partnership with local officer Geneviève "Arch" Archambault to navigate the complexities of local law enforcement. The duo works alongside a diverse team including a senior inspector and a junior inspector. They also consult with a medical examiner and a reformed hacker who operates a local bar.

The production is a logistical feat, filming across both the French territory and St. John's, Newfoundland. Allan Hawco, Robina Lord-Stafford, and Perry Chafe produced the production, which expanded quickly. Following its premiere on January 6, 2025, it was quickly renewed for a second season in May 2025, which expanded from ten to twelve episodes. By May 2026, a third season was greenlit, featuring new cast members like Assaad Bouab and Caroline Dhavernas. The first season's production took place entirely in the French territory during 2024. The second season's shoot began in June 2025. The third season's production schedule includes filming in both Newfoundland and the French collectivity.

The show has achieved significant commercial success and critical recognition. CBC reported it as its most-watched new series of 2025 and its top drama of the 2025–26 season. Its international reach is equally broad, with distribution deals spanning the UK, France, Australia, Israel, and New Zealand. Critics have already begun drawing comparisons to the popular British mystery 'Death in Paradise,' noting its ability to balance atmosphere with procedural depth. The show's global footprint includes distribution by Disney in Eastern Europe and Sky in New Zealand. In the UK, it airs on U&Alibi. French audiences first saw the series on Saint-Pierre et Miquelon La 1ère in April 2026.
