How to achieve Tandoor-style naan using a pizza oven
In short: Discover a simple, fast method for making authentic Indian naan. This video demonstrates how using the high heat of a wood-fired pizza oven, like the Ooni Pro, can replicate the results of a traditional Tandoor.
Adapted from Anjum Anand's cookbook 'I Love India', this recipe focuses on using high temperatures to achieve great texture and flavour. The process involves mixing 300g of all-purpose flour with yeast, oil, yoghurt, and water in a stand mixer, then kneading for 6-8 minutes.
After letting the dough double in size, the video shows how to bake the flatbreads at 260ºC (550ºF). By using a heated baking sheet in a preheated oven, you can achieve a deep golden brown underside and a puffed texture similar to professional clay oven cooking.
