In short: In September 2026, the cinematic landscape of Southern India was redefined. While the SIIMA ceremony honored a diverse array of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada talent, one massive production emerged as the night's undisputed heavyweight, sweeping the most honors across the board.

Held at the Koramately Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on 12–13 September 2026, the 14th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) served as a grand retrospective of the 2025 film season. The two-day event split its focus geographically and linguistically: the first day celebrated the Telugu and Kannada industries, while the second day turned its spotlight toward Tamil and Malayalam cinema. The event's hosts included Akul Balaji and Bindu Madhavi for the Telugu segment, while Sathish and Dhanya Balakrishna led the Tamil presentation. Govind Padmasoorya and Akul Balaji also shared duties for the Malayalam and Kannada sections respectively.

The night's most significant narrative was the dominance of Kantara: Chapter 1. The film secured ten awards, the highest of any production, including special appreciation for Rishab Shetty’s portrayal of the character Mayakaara and recognition for Pragathi Shetty’s costume design. This performance set it apart from other high-achieving films like Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Sarvam Maya, and Court: State vs a Nobody, which each earned five awards. In the Telugu category, Sankranthiki Vasthunam stood out as the most successful film, followed by Court: State vs a Nobody. Meanwhile, the Tamil industry saw Tourist Family lead the honors, closely followed by the production Dragon.

The ceremony also functioned as a celebration of industry longevity. Special honors were bestowed upon veterans, including Khushbu Sundar for 40 years of excellence, Shriya Saran for 25 years, and Boyapati Srinu for 20 years. The event concluded with lifetime achievement honors for Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and Lakshmi, cementing the ceremony's role as a bridge between the legends of the past and the promising newcomers of the 2025 cohort. The ceremony also spotlighted emerging talent, naming Sakkshi Mhadolkar, Aditya Madhavan, Sandeep Pradeep, and SS Dushyanth as promising newcomers. Additionally, Chandoo Mondeti earned the title of Best Director for his work on Thandel.
