Can the return of beavers transform the UK's natural landscape and biodiversity?
In short: Beavers are making a comeback across the UK. This video examines their environmental impact and their essential role in rewilding efforts, offering a look at how these animals reshape the countryside.
As reintroduction programs expand, beavers are increasingly viewed as key agents of ecological change. By modifying their habitats, they influence local water systems and vegetation, potentially creating more resilient ecosystems.
The Natural History Museum, which holds a vast collection of over 80 million specimens ranging from meteorites to dinosaur fossils, highlights these rewilding efforts to show how modern conservation science interacts with the natural world.
