Can bio-inspired architecture create a more beautiful future?
In short: Architect Thomas Heatherwick explores how nature's blueprints can redefine our built environment. This talk showcases five projects that reimagine ordinary infrastructure through ingenious, organic design.
Heatherwick presents a vision where human construction mimics biological growth and light. While the presentation covers reimagined everyday objects like buses, bridges, and power stations, it centers on the Seed Cathedral—an extraordinary pavilion designed as a celebration of natural forms.
The project highlights a shift toward 'bio-inspired' design, suggesting that by looking at how nature solves problems, we can create structures that are both functional and aesthetically profound.
