How a convicted criminal became one of Hollywood's most prolific faces
In short: Danny Trejo is a staple of modern cinema, but his path to the screen didn't begin on a studio lot. This video explores his transition from a life of crime to a career spanning over 300 film credits.
Despite not reaching the household name status of stars like Tom Cruise, Trejo has built a massive body of work since his acting debut in the mid-1980s. He is known for his distinctive, rugged appearance and a work ethic that has led to hundreds of roles.
The video highlights a stark contrast between his current fame and his past. Trejo's journey began behind bars, where he faced three offenses that were considered serious enough to warrant the gas chamber.
