In short: Mercury Award-nominated brothers Peter and David Brewis discuss their collaboration with Imperial War Museums. By analyzing a unique document marking the end of the First World War, the duo explores the complex emotions of hope and fragility that emerged when the fighting finally stopped.

In 2019, the band Field Music partnered with Imperial War Museums to create music for the Making a New World season. Their work was driven by a specific artifact from the museum's collection: a graphic record that visually captures the exact moment the guns fell silent at the conclusion of the First World War.

Formed in 2004, the Sunderland-based brothers have built a reputation for a deconstructionist style, previously seen in their 2016 soundtrack for the film Asunder. Through this project, they sought to translate the energy and historical weight of the armistice into a new musical experience.
