Can a single photograph change how we perceive our planet's fragile future?
In short: The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition captures the natural world's beauty while highlighting the immense pressures facing our planet. This video explores how the Natural History Museum uses these images to foster global appreciation for nature and drive urgent environmental action.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition serves as a visual record of a planet under strain. By showcasing the world's premier nature photography, the Natural History Museum aims to advance scientific understanding and encourage public engagement with critical ecological issues.
Beyond the exhibition, the Natural History Museum in London houses a vast collection of over 80 million objects, ranging from ancient dinosaur bones and meteorites to specimens like the giant squid. These resources, combined with the power of photography, provide a foundation for scientists to share surprising discoveries and advocate for the natural world.
