The art of physical escapism without a single digital pixel
In short: Artist Uldus Bakhtiozina creates haunting portraits that allow people to inhabit their dreams. Watch how she constructs entire worlds of escapism using only physical materials and manual craft.
Bakhtiozina documents the intersection of daily life and imagination. Rather than relying on digital manipulation or post-production, she builds every element of her work by hand, including the costumes and the stages. Her process creates a tangible land of escapism where subjects can transform into different versions of themselves.
The work serves as a visual exploration of what life could be, capturing the human desire to become something else through meticulously crafted, physical environments.
