Why do astronauts perform strange rituals before being fired into space?
In short: From peeing on bus wheels to echoing the habits of Yuri Gagarin, astronauts follow peculiar traditions before launch. This video explores whether these superstitious quirks serve a psychological purpose during high-stakes missions.

Just as athletes use pre-game habits to build confidence, astronauts may use these routines to gain a sense of control when facing the daunting prospect of spaceflight.
