Next ISS Crew Meets Media and Visits Red Square · 33:47 · Video: NASA · Watch at the source

In short: Before launching into space, the next crew of the International Space Station participates in a solemn tradition in Moscow. This video captures the transition from terrestrial preparation to the final steps of a pre-launch ceremony.

On October 24, 2011, Expedition 29 crew members Anton Shkaplerov, Dan Burbank, and Anatoly Ivanishin met with the media at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City. Following this, they traveled to Moscow's Red Square to perform a traditional ceremony.

The crew laid flowers at the Kremlin Wall to honor iconic Russian officials. This ritual serves as a symbolic tribute conducted before their scheduled launch to the International Space Station on November 14, 2011, from Kazakhstan.
