Are we separate from nature or fundamentally part of its survival?
In short: Filmmaker Damon Gameau explores how the long-held belief in human superiority over the natural world has fueled industrial progress while driving us toward an ecological crisis.
The video examines the historical narrative that humans are distinct from and superior to the environment. Gameau argues that this specific mindset has been a primary driver of economic and industrial advancement for centuries, yet it has simultaneously pushed the planet to the edge of an ecological emergency. He proposes a shift toward a new story—one centered on our deep interconnectedness with the natural world to foster a regenerative future.
