Are we alone in a universe filled with wild and diverse worlds?
In short: Astrophysicist Jessie Christiansen explores the vast variety of exoplanets found beyond our solar system. This video examines the trends emerging from recent data and what these distant worlds might reveal about our own origins.
Since the last few decades, astronomers have identified more than 5,000 exoplanets, with estimates suggesting there could be millions or even billions more waiting to be found. This growing catalog reveals a cosmos far more diverse than previously imagined, including intriguing possibilities like 'super-Earths.'
By studying these planetary trends, scientists aim to address fundamental existential questions, such as how life began and how we arrived here.
