The hidden life of Scandinavia's brown bear families
In short: Explore the secret world of brown bears in the northern forests of Europe. This documentary follows a mother and her three cubs as they navigate a landscape of deep snow and wild neighbors.
In the winter months, brown bears in Finland, Sweden, and Norway retreat to caves buried under tons of snow. It is here that females give birth to their cubs, who remain close to their mother for months to be warmed and suckled.
The film follows the 'band of bears'—a mother and her triplets—as they begin to explore the Scandinavian wilderness. Their journey includes encounters with other iconic species, such as moose, wolves, forest reindeer, and flying squirrels.
