The human cost of satisfying a global hunger for timber
In short: Explore the high-stakes reality of Borneo’s rainforests, where woodcutters and truckers navigate extreme conditions to meet international demands. This film captures the tension between economic survival and the destruction of one of the world's most vital ecosystems.
The documentary follows workers in Indonesia who endure grueling environments to harvest resources from Borneo, the world's fourth-largest island. It highlights how large-scale exploitation driven by global demand impacts both native wildlife and the indigenous communities who have inhabited these forests for generations.
By documenting the struggle between resource extraction and conservation, the film illustrates the consequences of deforestation on biodiversity and the delicate balance of our planet's remaining tropical habitats.
