The 15-Year Odyssey of Two Rival Saltwater Crocodiles
In short: Follow the life cycles of Nero and Brutus, two saltwater crocodiles navigating a high-stakes battle for dominance. This documentary captures their journey from perilous hatchlings to apex predators in a deadly wetland habitat.
The narrative explores how aggression directly correlates with growth and food acquisition in saltwater crocodiles. To maintain status as the 'Boss Croc,' males must survive frequent battles of dominance where losing often necessitates abandoning their territory.
While Nero remained in their home wetlands, Brutus embarked on an ocean odyssey lasting nearly 15 years. Upon his return, Brutus had to navigate a punishing drought and fight to reclaim his former position as the dominant male.
