Survival on the edge of a melting frozen universe
In short: Explore the tundra, a desolate biome where winter has persisted for thousands of years. This documentary captures the daily struggle of arctic specialists facing extreme pressures and the growing threat of global warming.
Located above 70 degrees North, the tundra serves as the northernmost limit of the hemisphere's habitable world. In this 'desert of ice,' the ground remains locked beneath a permanent barrier of snow and ice, creating one of Earth's most unforgiving environments.
The footage highlights the resilience of arctic-specialist animals that must navigate sharp ice and constant threats to survival. However, as global warming causes this familiar landscape to melt, the biological odds for these species are beginning to shift.
