In short: Europe was once a continuous expanse of forest stretching from the Arctic to the Mediterranean. After being wiped out by a mini ice age, these woodlands are making a remarkable comeback. This documentary explores the diverse habitats and wildlife of the continent's green heart.

Approximately 15,000 years ago, a mini ice age decimated the vast forests that once covered Europe. Today, these woodlands are in a state of spectacular recovery, covering about 1,000 million hectares—roughly 30 times the size of Poland.

The series highlights the continent's incredible biodiversity, where temperatures fluctuate between 40 degrees and minus 40 degrees. The footage captures a mosaic of habitats, ranging from Mediterranean cork forests and Central European oak and beech woodlands to the evergreen taiga near the Arctic Circle.
