The epic migration of wolves across the European landscape
In short: Witness the resurgence of apex predators as Italian wolves expand their territory into the Alps. This documentary follows their journey from the south to the heart of Europe, capturing the formation of new packs and cross-border partnerships.
The film traces a significant ecological shift as wolves colonize the Alpine region, traversing diverse terrains including woods, plains, and mountain valleys. A key focus is the meeting point between Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia, where Italian wolves have connected with Eastern European populations.
This movement has led to the breakdown of previous barriers, resulting in mixed partnerships and the expansion of pack sizes. The documentary uses high-quality cinematography to document these complex social dynamics and the broader return of predators to the mountains.
