The high-stakes survival game between lions and elephants
In short: Witness a rare and perilous dynamic in Botswana's wilderness. This documentary follows a breakaway group of lionesses and a herd of elephants as they navigate a dangerous journey toward the Chobe River.
The Savuti pride in Botswana's Chobe National Park has historically specialized in hunting elephants, with a pride size reaching up to 40 individuals. The narrative focuses on a specific group of breakaway lionesses and a herd of elephants forced to travel north, creating a tense environment where both species must manage basic survival while facing one another as primary threats.
A central focus is the young lioness Seeva, who persists in her pursuit of elephants despite the risks. She targets two young calves, Numsa and Jabu, from the Serondela herd. The film captures the escalating conflict between these old adversaries as they navigate the landscape.
