Can one of Earth's most threatened ecosystems be reborn?
In short: The Brazilian Atlantic Forest was once decimated by centuries of expansion. This documentary explores the ambitious reforestation efforts currently transforming these degraded landscapes back into thriving biodiversity hotspots.
Despite being reduced to a fraction of its original size by agriculture and urban growth, the Mata Atlântica remains one of the planet's richest regions for biodiversity. The film tracks how biologists, conservationists, and local communities are collaborating to reverse this damage through large-scale reforestation programs.
The project focuses on rebuilding wildlife corridors and protecting endangered species to give the ecosystem a second chance. It serves as a case study in how determined conservation work can actively restore life to landscapes previously considered lost.
