In short: Watch how a shortage of food forces a brutal shift in the natural order. This sequence captures the moment cape gannet chicks become a primary food source for local pelicans.

As fish populations dwindle, the survival strategies of seabirds are being pushed to the limit. While cape gannet parents are out at sea hunting, pelicans take advantage of the vulnerability of the chicks to feed their own offspring.

This footage is part of a broader exploration of the extraordinary tactics species use to survive in a changing world, highlighting the raw reality of the natural food chain.
