The physics of a predator: how eagles master the hunt
In short: Witness the raw mechanics of avian predation as Tilly, a golden eagle, tracks and strikes a robotic hare. This footage reveals the specialized physical attributes that allow these birds to become some of nature's most effective hunters.
The video features Tilly, a golden eagle, engaging in a controlled hunt against a specially engineered robot hare. By observing her behavior, researchers can better understand the specific biological and physical traits that make eagles such formidable predators.
This exploration of 'super powered' eagles highlights the evolutionary success of these birds within their ecosystems. It serves as a window into the natural history of apex predators, showcasing the precision and power required to survive in the wild.
