The delicate balance of raising wild predators in human care
In short: Watch the 18-month journey of three orphaned jaguar cubs as they transition from human foster care back to the wild. This footage captures the vital developmental milestones required to turn vulnerable orphans into capable jungle predators.
Brazilian expert Leandro Silviera has spent 25 years running the Jaguar Conservation Fund. After rescuing three cubs whose mother was killed by cowboys, Silviera nursed them to health and utilized a private pool to teach them essential predatory skills.
The documentary explores the psychological complexity of these animals: they must learn to survive in the jungle while navigating a deep emotional bond with their human foster family. The ultimate goal is a successful release into the wild, while addressing the ongoing threat of human-caused poaching.
