A predator pushed to the brink by a disappearing world

In short: Watch how the Sumatran tiger, one of the world's most majestic predators, has been forced into a desperate conflict with humans as its habitat vanishes.

Because the wild population has dropped below 400, experts predict the Sumatran tiger will become the century's first predator to vanish. This crisis is driven by the loss of over 60% of Sumatra’s rainforest in just 25 years, primarily to make way for oil palm plantations and paper production.

The destruction of natural prey and habitat has forced these 200 lb cats to seek out human targets. The film follows the high-stakes efforts of forest rangers and the Zoological Society of London to manage man-eater conflicts and establish a pure bloodline for the species to prevent total extinction.
