Defying Ancestral Values to Reclaim Independence in the Himalayas
In short: In Nepal, women often face systemic treatment as second-class citizens. This film follows three sisters who refused to submit to these patriarchal traditions, instead building a movement to help local women break cultural barriers and regain control of their lives.
Lucky, Nicky, and Dicky Chhetri founded Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) to challenge sexist customs in the Himalayan region. Their work focuses on guiding Nepali women through a transformative process involving healing and self-fulfillment.
The sisters' journey explores the transition from submission to independence, aiming to dismantle long-standing ancestral values that limit female agency.
