Following initial care in North Carolina, he was moved to a hospital in Camden. His office reported he was responding to treatment by mid-April, and he was eventually discharged in May to begin rehabilitation. Despite the severity of his illness, he made a brief appearance in Congress in late May to cast a vote before returning to his full duties in June.

Beyond his health challenges, Norcross has navigated a career marked by both legislative responsibilities and public controversy. He has served in various leadership positions, including assistant whip, and has been involved in numerous caucuses. In 2021, he was linked to a disruptive outburst during a remote committee meeting, an incident that drew significant attention and criticism from political opponents. Throughout his tenure, he has remained a fixture in South Jersey politics, maintaining a presence in the House while balancing his committee assignments and caucus leadership roles.
