In short: From a small town near Palermo to the heights of Formula 2, Gabriele Minì’s ascent is a masterclass in resilience. Despite disqualifications, engine failures, and championship heartbreak, the Alpine Academy driver continues to prove that talent is nothing without the grit to recover.

Born on 20 March 2005 in Marineo, near Palermo, Gabriele Minì’s path to professional racing was paved by his father, a mechanic who introduced him to single-seaters. His career began in karting in 2012, where he quickly rose to prominence, securing the 2017 Italian Championship in the 60 Mini Class and earning the FIA Karting Rookie of the Year in 2019.

Minì’s transition to car racing in 2020 was nothing short of explosive. He became the youngest Italian F4 champion to date, a feat achieved through a dominant campaign involving four wins and nine poles. However, the higher tiers of motorsport have tested his temperament and luck. In the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship, he finished as runner-up, narrowly losing the title to Dino Beganovic by just a single point after a strong finish in Mugello.

The 2024 FIA Formula 3 season provided perhaps his most dramatic chapter. While he secured multiple victories, including a commanding win in Monaco, the championship was decided by the thinnest of margins. Entering the Monza finale just three points behind leader Leonardo Fornaroli, Minì fought for the title until the final lap, only to lose it by two points. A post-race disqualification due to low tyre pressures further complicated his standing.

Now competing in Formula 2 for MP Motorsport, Minì continues to navigate the volatile landscape of elite racing. Whether topping the timesheets in Formula E rookie tests or fighting through mid-pack recoveries in F2, his career remains a high-stakes pursuit of precision and endurance.
