From medieval stonemasons to a global order of two million members
In short: Explore the evolution of Freemasonry from its origins as a guild for cathedral builders into one of the world's most scrutinized and secretive intellectual fraternities.
The documentary investigates how a simple corporation of medieval cathedral builders transformed into an enigmatic order defined by secular traditions, strange symbols, and secret rituals. While often the subject of conspiracy theories—ranging from accusations of Satan worship to fomenting revolutions—the fraternity has historically played a role in the emancipation of individuals from religious tenets and social alienation.
With over two million members worldwide today, the film seeks to separate myth from reality by examining the organization's actual influence on modern society and its transition into a philosophical order.
