The bull that traded pure combustion for a hybrid heart
In short: Lamborghini's newest flagship marks a seismic shift in Italian engineering. While the brand is synonymous with raw internal combustion, the Revuelto introduces a true plug-in hybrid drivetrain to its V12 lineage, balancing high-performance heritage with modern electrification and advanced aerodynamics.
Unveiled on March 29, 2023, as the successor to the Aventador, the Lamborghini Revuelto represents a pivotal evolution for the manufacturer. While previous models like the Sián FKP 37 utilized mild hybrid systems primarily for low-speed drivability, the Revuelto is the first in the brand's history to adopt a true plug-in hybrid propulsion system. This powertrain combines a new 6.5-liter V12 engine with three electric motors, generating a combined power output of 746.5 kW (1,015 PS).
The engineering focuses on weight reduction and structural integrity. The car features a monocoque composed entirely of carbon fiber, making it 10% lighter than the Aventador's chassis while improving torsional rigidity by 25%. To manage aerodynamics, Lamborghini introduced the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) system—which is reportedly 80% lighter than standard sports car hydraulic systems—alongside an active rear spoiler that produces more downforce than its predecessor. Visually, it distinguishes itself with a completely exposed engine bay, a design cue shared by the Bugatti Veyron and Chiron.
Beyond raw power, the Revuelto integrates practical urban technology through a dedicated 'Città' mode. This setting reduces power output for daily driving on city roads, complemented by an 8.4-inch vertical center display supporting Amazon Alexa and smartphone integration. The car also serves as a canvas for high-level customization; the Ad Personam division produces one-off 'Opera Unica' models and special editions, such as those celebrating the 2026 Winter Olympics or the 165th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy.
