In short: Lodha Group has transformed from a regional developer into a global real estate powerhouse. By leveraging high-profile partnerships and aggressive land acquisitions, the company is now pivoting toward digital infrastructure, aiming to build massive data center parks that power the modern internet.

Founded in 1980 by Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the company—formerly known as Macrotech Developers Limited—has expanded from Mumbai into markets like London, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Its growth strategy has been marked by high-stakes acquisitions, such as purchasing 17 acres of prime Mumbai land from DLF for approximately ₹2,700 crore (US$280 million) in 2005, a price nearly four times what DLF originally paid. The group has also secured notable international assets, including Macdonald House in central London from the Government of Canada in 2013.

The company's evolution is defined by strategic branding and diversification. It famously partnered with Donald Trump in 2013 to develop the 77-storey Trump Tower Mumbai and has collaborated with celebrities like Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassadors. Financially, the group saw a significant surge in 2025, reporting total income of ₹14,169.8 crore and a net profit of ₹2,764.3 crore. Despite its rapid expansion, the company maintains a focus on sustainability, ranking first among residential developers in Asia in the 2023 GRESB Development Benchmark with a perfect score of 100.

Currently, Lodha is pivoting toward the 'digital infrastructure' sector. In late 2024, it sold 38.18 acres in its Palava region to Amazon Web Services for a hyperscale data center. During the Davos World Economic Forum in January 2026, a memorandum of understanding was agreed upon between the firm and the Maharashtra administration. To establish a 2.5 gigawatt data centre park via a green integrated policy, the agreement encompasses ₹1.3 trillion (₹1 lakh crore alongside a previous ₹30,000 crore pledge) in funding.
